Forum Terms & Rules

Kolly Kai Forum is a project run under ZATZAi Services, a private entity based in California. Use of the Kolly Kai Forum (Also known simply as HKF) site falls under some general guidelines, listed below. Enforcement of these guidelines is not absolute and will be considered by the forum staff on a case by case basis. Additional moderators and administrators on the HKF site may give special exception or addendum to these guidelines as they see fit. Please keep this all in mind when you peruse or use the HKF site.

General Policy

Double posts, or posting of the same topic across multiple forums is discouraged. Unsolicited offers or advertisements in PMs are strictly forbidden and if they occur should be reported to one of the forum administrators immediately. The postings of classifieds is not permitted on this forum except when it is a golf event taking place on the Holly Kai properties. For more general classified postings please use the Terror of Thought forum Classified Adverts category. If your announcement does not fit within the criteria we're allowing do not post it.

Member signatures on HKF may not be over 200 pixels in height or 400 pixels in width (Unless it can wrap to that size or smaller). Avatars may be no larger than 150x150 pixels and may not be of an adult or vulgar nature. Signatures & avatars alike may not contain material that may be considered vindictive of other members.

Civility Policy

The civility policy, also known as the common sense policy, is meant as a guideline for how to treat members on the forum. It is not desired to curtail free expression but the first amendment right does not apply to private organizations and as such there are some basic rules for communication on HKF.

Harassment and threats especially against other members, be it in public or in private is frowned upon. Trolling, or the act of involving oneself in a matter not pertinent to oneself other than to get a rise out of another individual is similarly unappreciated. Similarily, driving a topic off subject in an aparrent bid to troll the thread is not acceptable. Defamation of or threats against an individual, be they indirect or not, will not be tolerated. Similarly the HKF staff will not condone the sharing of information that an individual could have a reasonable expectation of privacy over.

Mature Content Policy

Though out the forum the posting of adult material on the HKF site is not permitted. We understand that we're adults and this is a part of life but Holly Kai Forum is not the place for it. As such the direct embedding or linking to adult or nude images, in posts, signatures or avatars is not permitted. The posting of vulgar items is similarly disallowed.

Copyrighted Works Policy

By posting material to this site you affirm that you are the original copyright holder or that you have a license / permission to share the material or that it falls under fair use. In posting said material you are giving permission for HKF and members of HKF to repost the information through HKF software. Postings of copyrighted works without license / permission or fair use exemptions will be removed when the HKF staff is informed by the original copyright holder.

Privacy Policy

Information posted to the forum can be seen by other members of the HKF site as well as guests and search engines. The subscribers forum and materials within it can only be seen by other subscribers and early adopters of the HKF site. Personal Messages, or PMs while considered private are not in fact secret. If an abuse of the PM system is reported the staff of HKF have the ability to read the HKF database including PMs between members to investigate the claims of abuse, however the contents of a PM will not be shared outside of its recipients.

In order to use HKF some basic information is needed by the site software, this includes a working email address (For verification) and the users IP address (Which is recorded automatically). This information is available to the HKF administrators for the purposes of running the site and security however it will not be shared with other members or sites except under court order. The one exception to this is impending physical harm upon oneself or another, such as suicide notes etc, if concidered serious the note and identifying information of the poster may be reported to the authorities to prevent a possible tragedy.

Identity theft, or the impersonation of members of HKF will not be tolerated and any member doing say may be banned without warning. If you feel your identity is being impersonated on the HKF site please contact the forum staff directly.

Moderation Policy

HKF uses a lite moderation policy, preferring generally to let the community self moderate, however we realize that sometimes people will run on emotion and debates can degenerate into arguments. Several methods are available to the moderating staff to help deal with this situations, including the warning, suspension, and banning of members. Threads can also be closed or removed from public view if needed but by and large the problem is not a topic but a handful of people in it.

People can report posts they feel break with the forum guidelines by clicking on the report button next to a post. Realize however that moderation will not always be swift and you may not get a response to your report even if action is taken. What is moderated and what is not is based on whether it breaks with the forum guidelines and what is best for the board overall, but it is not based on the popularity or lack-there-of of a person or an idea.

By and large if a person does something worth moderating they will receive a warning, this will increment their warning level (Which you can see under your avatar) by 10% (Or more for larger offenses). A member may or may not be suspended for a period of six hours our more in conjunction with this warning (To give tempers a chance to cool). Methods of suspension include removing the ability to post, or removing the ability to use the forum software as a logged in member. When a user receives a warning they will be notified by PM or Email as to why they were warned. If a user's warning level ever reaches 100% they will be banned from the site. Warning levels will decrease given time and noticeable improvement on the users part.

Members who have been banned from the HKF site are not banned so that those who remain and discuss them incessantly. They are removed for the good of the forum, but in the interest of being as fair as possible, if and when a member is removed from the HKF site they are not to be the subject of direct discussion (Or vindictive indirect discussion). You can tell if someone is banned or not by looking at the member group under there avatar in posts and in their profile, if it says "Banned" then they are.
